ca 1880. 74x82. Found in Illinois, USA. The Ohio Stars are made of yellow calico fabric with brown stars and are set on a field of white. There is a double border: one yellow and one white, each one inch wide. The pieces are machine-sewn as is the separate piece of white straight fabric binding. There is little or no batting, and the backing is white. The quilting is about 9st/in and in 0.25-inch cobblestones in the large squares. Elsewhere, around the triangles, the quilting is on either side of the seams. At the inner edge of the border there is triple line quilting, and on the double border itself, the quilting is in diamonds. The date for this piece is not confirmed but is our best estimated based on the style and patterns. The quilt is in excellent condition.
